raised hands,
humbled hearts,
praise over-flows,
grace received.

homeless

single mom,
living within walls,
history distorted,
turbulent past,
little roots,
emotionally homeless.
yet, there is one Faith,
one Lord,
one Baptism,
one God,
and Father of all,
who is above all,
in all,
through all.
homelessness slowly fades away.

come

come, all you who are thirsty,

come to the waters;

and you who have no money,

come, buy and eat!

come, buy wine and milk

without money and without cost.

why spend money on what is not bread,

and your labor on what does not satisfy?

listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,

and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.

isaiah 55:1-2

this is a gentle message, but a powerful one which we block out.
satisfaction and delight cannot be purchased, only received.
come Lord, Jesus.

let your love fall on my eyes
let your joy fall in my lungs

room of isolation

divorce scars
unfaithfulness betrays

searching leads to nothing
looking builds the cell

day by day the blocks advance
tear by tear the bars raise

the lover is gone
the room is all that is left

laughter is veiled
isolation begs for union

seized minds

one bound by blood
the other bound by pain
minds seized waiting for redemption
minds clotted waiting for grace

bring salvation to the mind
bring salvation to the body
bring salvation for the soul
seized minds await
